An Insight Into Studio Producing

Overview

This website I have made includes useful areas from my portfolio, which supports the job of a music producer during my time at New College Lanarkshire studying HND Sound Production. In these projects listed below, I will showcase my skills & ability to record artists & sound design foley in collaboration with many spaces such as recording studios, Churches, & Outdoor environments. I will show the use of Digital Audio Workstations, Video editing software, & Audio restoration resources.

The first project below will consist of a Studio recording project which I have produced for an artist from their demo, which they had made themself, and I will be recording, Mixing, & Mastering within the time I was given to do so which will show off my skill in being efficient within time constraints. The second project was a podcast that some friends and I within the same college course had created, This podcast was based around the music scene and popular related news or Song/Album releases, which showed skills to work with others on a project like this. Thirdly there is a project of a GTA V clip in which I was assigned to create all the sounds for that feature in a binaural setting, I will show how I made recordings change from mono to becoming a sound that sounds like it was being heard by your ears recreating the distance and elevation of where the specific sound is, this will show off my skills of learning new Audio Plug-Ins and Recording equipment. The final project and most recent of them all is a 5.1 surround sound recording where I and a few others were challenged for the first time to contact people from a choir or string band to then meet with them to record them using a specific microphone technique to capture it. This will test my skills under pressure and problem-solving on the spot when issues arise.
